The PHBA Baseball and Softball rules for the 2022 season have been updated and posted on the Rules page. Key changes to this season’s rules include but are not limited to:

Softball American 2023
The Dropped Third Strike is no longer in effect for Softball American.

Baseball Pioneer 2022
Removal of overthrow pitch rule – This rule has been replaced with a maximum number of bases a runner may achieve

Softball Pioneer 2022
Removal of overthrow pitch rule – This rule has been replaced with a maximum number of bases a runner may achieve.
Pitchers now have 4 pitch maximum before the Coach Pitch rule applies.
Pitchers must now wear a fielder’s mask.

Baseball American 2022
The maximum number of runs is now limited to 3 during the first four innings. Unlimited runs are allowed in the 5th and 6th innings.

While we encourage everyone to read the rules, it is the responsibility of the managers & coaches to understand the rules. They alone are responsible for interaction with the umpires during games. If you have any concerns regarding the rules, please consult your team coaches.

The website version of the 2022 rules is the only official version that exists. There is no version available for download.
