11 Elite-level members of PHBA’s exceptional Blue Crew joined over 200 other Northern California umpires at Mistlin Sports Park in Ripon, CA on Saturday, December 6, 2025, under the watchful tutelage of 3 Major League umpires, 2 MLB umpires-in-waiting, several AAA/AA umpires, and numerous PAC12/Division 1 umpires.

The purpose of this gathering was to receive free, first class training from the highest level of umpires in baseball. This all day event exposed the Blue Crew members to the type of training and game knowledge associated to aspiring umpires who attend Major League Baseball’s professional baseball training camps.

The training received by this group should make these volunteers better umpires and will be brought back to PHBA to enhance the training for the rest of our Blue Crew. Their dedication and commitment to improvement is representative of the entire Blue Crew’s tradition of giving PHBA’s kids the most professional umpire experience possible.
