Train the Trainer

Required for those experienced umpires who will be trainers at the field training on February 11. It is required more than ever this year as the format of the Field Day has been completely revamped. It is extremely important you make every effort to attend this meeting if we are to be successful with our new umpires.

LEVEL 1 Field Training

To complete LEVEL 1 Umpire Training, it's time to move out of the  classroom.  It's now time to experience what it is like to be on the field.  PHBA players will be on-hand to help you gain the experience to get out there on Opening Day.

LEVEL 2 Plate Training

For those who feel they want to do more than just work Bases at LEVEL 1; who believe they can handle the rigors behind the plate; or as a returning umpire just need a refresher, hang around after the LEVEL 1 training to have our experienced trainers provide the instruction you need to understand the strike zone and maintain control the game from the best seat in the house.

LEVEL 3/LEVEL 4 Advanced Mechanics Training

Are you a returning umpire at LEVEL 1, LEVEL 2, or  LEVEL 3?  Do you think you are ready to take on the role of Umpire in Chief (UIC) on the field for National or Western division games?  If you are, then the advanced mechanics portion of our umpire training Field Day is for you.  This training will familiarize you with the faster and unique elements of the National and Western division games, as well as the responsbilities as UIC for Pioneer and American games.

Come join us for part 1 of LEVEL 1 Umpire Training.  It promises to be a fun time learning the basics of the game for Bases Only work.  Regardless of your baseball and softball experience, you will learn the necessary skills to officiate 8 - 10 year old baseball and softball players...and have a good time doing it!

Blue Crew Pre-Season Kickoff

The final hoorah for the Blue Crew before Opening Day the next weekend.  It is an opportunity for veterans and new umpires to come together as a unit to introduce themselves to one another.  The chance to review and clarify rules, odd plays from the preceding season, hand out awards from 2017, and talk shop over BBQ and soda/water. This is an ALL Blue Crew affair intended to get us ready for the new season.  So, COME ON DOWN!

Opening Day

OPENING DAY!!  This is what the kids, managers/coaches, parents, AND umpires have been waiting and training for.  The season kick's off this day!  The Blue Crew provides much needed traffic control as well as joing the players, managers/coaches, commissioners, and board members in the parade from Sequoia MS to Pleasant Oaks Park for the festivities and the games that start the season.  Please join us!
